I am a sucker for lists. It relaxes me when I write down things, I guess it’s because then I don’t have to worry I’ll forget. So this printable weekly planner originated actually in a very personal need.
As this year comes to an end I had to think about how it started, so full of excitement and curiosity. 2016 seemed to become an extraordinary and successful year. I’d planned to quit my day job and take a year to explore where my creative path will take me to eventually pursue a creative career.
If you see success in money, I guess the year was not as successful as I hoped. But that’s not really the way I measure success (if it wasn’t necessary to pay the bills). I learned so much in the past year, about myself, about starting a business, I’ve learned loads of new skills, refined old ones and found out what I really love (which is still subject to change as far as I know myself). It was frightening, tiring, exciting and extremely satisfying. I quit my job, build up this blog, started my design business Eskaa Designs and opened my Society6 shop, my Etsy shop and worked on some smaller design projects.
I don’t know why I can see the achievements of others much easier than my own. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am my own worst critic. If you’re the same, I would like to take a minute and congratulate us both on what we have achieved this last year. I don’t have to know you to know it was a lot. And there are certainly things to be really proud of. Don’t overlook the little things. WELL DONE!
But I must admit I still haven’t optimised my time management and productivity, but I am working on it. And what I’ll definitely need in 2017 is this weekly planner to write down my tasks every day and prioritise them.
