Lace. I love lace. And that’s quite a confession. I always wanted not to appear too girly or cute. And lace has – besides other qualities – the power to make you appear cute, sexy or girly.
I rather wanted to appear, how I wanted to feel: strong and independent. And what can I say … lace just didn’t fit into that picture for me.
But things change. Don’t ask me why, maybe I became more confident. Maybe I know now that I am strong and confident and therefore I am able to embrace my femininity and cuteness. Who knows.
Fact is, now I think a little bit of lace upgrades every outfit. And how is that easier than with lace earrings?
Lace highlights your femininity. In a playful way. Which woman doesn’t like to feel feminine? Lace combined with denim, leather or cotton is a statement. A very pretty one.
An easy way to bring just a touch of lace into your daily outfit is jewellery, like lace earrings. What a coincidence that I have just the right tutorial for that… wink wink.
Three different, all easy to make, lace earrings tutorials with a simple lace border. And I bet you can do them all together in under 30 minutes.
LACE EARRINGS ARROW
You need:
- Lace border that can be cut into single pieces. You need 16 of these pieces.
- Scissors
- Super glue
- 2 earring hooks
- 2 jump rings (I used slightly bigger ones ∅ 12 mm / ½″)
- Pliers
1. Cut the lace border into pieces: 2 single ones, 4 double ones and 2 triple ones.
2. Glue the pieces together like roof tiles. The following image shows you how. Apply glue where the yellow dots are (be careful not to glue your fingers together – happens to me every time!). The green dots are on the backside and have to go onto the yellow dots.
4. Open a jump ring and attach it in the middle of the first lace row and connect it to a earring hook. Done.
LACE EARRINGS SHELLS
You need:
- Lace border that can be cut into single pieces. You need 2 of these pieces.
- 2 shells with a opening
- Scissors
- Super glue
- 2 earring hooks
- 4 small jump rings
- pliers
1. Cut the lace border into pieces: 2 single one.
2. Glue a piece of lace to the bottom back of each shell. See image below: Green is at the back of the shell, align the green with the yellow part (glue). Let it dry.
3. Connect the shells, the jump rings and the earring hooks. Done.
LACE EARRINGS HOOPS
You need:
- Lace border that can be cut into single pieces. You need 2 of these pieces.
- Scissors
- 2 earring hoops
1. Cut the lace border into pieces: 2 single one.
2. Push the earring hoop through the upper middle of a piece of lace. That’s it. Done.
